Below are before and after photos of a driveway construction in the Perth Hills suburb of Lesmurdie.
The first 3 photos show the existing hardstand driveway and crossover.
The surface was scraped clean, relevelled, compacted and waterbound with additional roadbase.
The final 4 photos show the same surface after the area was sealed with a bitumen tack emulsion and 25mm thick layer of 7mm laterite/gravelpave red hotmix/asphalt with 1% oxide.
The join lines and edges are yet to be gassed, tamped and tidied up.
The surface will lighten up over time as it oxidises from the sun.
